here they go again. it’s april 1st and the pranksters at google have made an announcement for gmail paper — a paper version of gmail. As quoted on their website:
“Everyone loves Gmail. But not everyone loves email, or the digital era. What ever happened to stamps, filing cabinets, and the mailman? Well, you asked for it, and it’s here. We’re bringing it back.”
I wonder if they have an employee whose job it is to think up these pranks every year, just like they have a full-time employee working on new designs for the google logo. On another note, the US Museum of Humor has compiled a list of the 10 all-time best april fool’s pranks. Here’s a great one:
– in 1996, Taco Bell announced that it had bought Philadelphia’s Liberty Bell from the federal government, and was renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell. Outraged citizens called to express their anger, before the prank was revealed. Then White-House press secretary Mike McCurry was asked about the sale and said the Lincoln Memorial in Washington was also sold and to be renamed the Ford Lincoln Memorial after the automotive giant.
